The Rapture: Interval Between The Rapture and the Great Tribulation

The coming of Christ for His Body is quite a different event, and belongs to quite a different Dispensation, than the coming of Christ to the earth with great power and to execute judgment. The end for which the Body of Christ is waiting is not judgment or tribulation, but to be "received up in glory" (1 Timothy 3:16), to be "called on high" (Philippians 3:14). The Body of Christ's seat of government exists now in heaven, from whence we look for the Savior (Philippians 3:19-21).

That coming is into the AIR, and NOT unto the earth; it is in Grace, and NOT in judgment; and it concerns those who are "IN Christ". Nothing is revealed in the Old Testament or in the Gospels about this coming! Those books know nothing of it. This coming concerns the Mystery, which was kept secret from times eternal, and was "hid in God", until revealed by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul. The Body of Christ (which is the Mystery) waits for ONE thing, and that is to be "received up into Glory" (1 Timothy 3:16). But this is NOT the subject of the Book of Revelation.

To make this even clearer we must compare what we call the "second" Advent with the "first" Advent.

When the Coming of the LORD was announced in Micah 5:2, it was announced as a coming FORTH; and then in Zechariah 9:9 as a coming UNTO. Micah speaks of the coming forth at Bethlehem, and Zechariah of the coming unto Jerusalem.

In Zechariah, Christ comes UNTO Jerusalem, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." Zech. 9:9

In Micah 5:2, Christ comes FORTH at Bethlehem, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2

Now, pay attention here, there was nothing in those prophecies to tell the Jewish reader whether there would be any interval between these events, or what that interval would be. The Jewish Bible student might think there was a discrepancy; while the Jew with the mind of a "higher critic" might see a greater difficulty, and refuse to believe either Scripture.

Now, of course today, we, with our knowledge, know that there was an interval of more than THIRTY years between the two events. Both refer to one and the same Coming, but to two different stages in it; and that all the events between them go to make up what we speak of as the "first Coming."

We believe that it will be exactly the same with regard to what we call the "second Coming." There will be the same two stages, with a similar INTERVAL (or longer it may be) between them, and all the events (which are recorded in the Book of Revelation and elsewhere) will go to make up what we speak of as "the second Coming." This will also provide opportunity for the Antichrist to set up his kingdom, albeit for "an hour".

There will be the coming forth (as at Bethlehem) of "the LORD Himself" and the calling of His saints on high (Philippians 3:14), and the receiving of them in glory (1 Tim. 3:16); and then, LATER ON, to fulfill all the prophecies which related to His People Israel; and, as the Son of man will "come unto" the earth, to take unto Himself His great power, and reign.

This LATTER COMING is connected with "the Day of the LORD," and it is THAT which the subject of the Book of Revelation is. Revelation 1:7 settles this for us, "Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth( a better rendering would be "the Land") shall wail because of him." Only Jew and Gentile are in this verse, and not the Body of Christ. This is the Coming of which Israel's Prophets speak. See Daniel 7:13 and Zechariah 12:9-10, which is the Scripture referred to here.

This is the Coming which the LORD spoke of when on earth in Matthew 24:30-31; Matthew 26:64, and elsewhere (make note of the "ye").

What He there said is perfectly clear, and in perfect harmony with all that had been said in the Old Testament. Therefore, to read Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians into the Gospels is only to create confusion; and make a difficulty where none before existed: it uses one truth for the upsetting of another.

The same difficulty is created when we arbitrarily introduce these later Prison Epistles of Paul into the Book of Revelation. And, to save us from making such a mistake, the Holy Spirit gave special instruction, through the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5, immediately after He had inspired the revelation of 1 Thessalonians 4. If we pay attention to this and learn the great and important lesson here, all will be perfectly clear.

1 Thessalonians 5: 1, "But of the times and the season, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you."

Why, "no need"? Simply because the Coming forth into the air and our "gathering together unto Him" there, do not depend on any time or season. His "Coming unto" the earth DOES; but that is NOT what he had been speaking about in the chapter immediately before (Thessalonians 4).

2. "For yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the LORD so cometh as a thief in the night."

It is the "Day of the LORD" which (as we have been discussing above) is the subject of the Book of Revelation: and in Revelation 3:3, the LORD distinctly warns as to His Coming "as a thief," which is the VERY OPPOSITE of what we read of in Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians, and even in 1 Thessalonians 4-5. For mark the sudden change of pronouns in the latter chapters.

3. "For when THEY shall say, 'Peace and safety,' then sudden destruction cometh upon THEM, and THEY shall not escape."

It is this "destruction" which the Book of Revelation describes. It is this which gives its character to "the Day of the LORD." It is "sudden," and comes "as a thief;" and it comes upon "THEM" and "THEY," not upon us: for mark the change of pronouns again.

4. "But YE, brethren, are not in darkness, that that Day should overtake YOU as a thief."

Here, our point is spot on and emphatically stated, with a pin-pointing which leaves nothing to be added. Can anything be clearer than the fact that the Church of God of the Dispensation of Grace, the Church of the Mystery, the Body of Christ, is NOT the subject of the Book of Revelation...And that the "Coming" which IS the subject of the Book of Revelation is NOT the Coming for which the Body of Christ is now longing, waiting, and looking?

The Book of Revelation is "prophecy," and therefore it awaits a future fulfillment in "the Day of the LORD," when the LORD Jesus shall be unveiled as the Son of man, and every eye shall see Him.

DISPENSATIONS in The BIBLE: Bible Study Illustration Chart 4 - Pastor David

During the last few years Christians have been warned time and again against Dispensationalism, Ultradispensationalism, Hyperdispensationalism, and Extreme Dispensationalism. Some ignorant, spiritual leaders have warned their followers against any and all Dispensationalism. Now, the word "Dispensation" is used in Ephesians 1:10, Ephesians 3:2-3, Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:24-26, and 1 Corinthians 9:17. The Greek word is "OIKONOMIA" . . . "Oiko" means House . . . and "Nomia" means Law. IT is also from where we get our English word Economy. This word "OIKONOMIA" is translated "Stewardship" in Luke 16:2-4. You see the word has the meaning of "The ADMINISTRATION of a HOUSE or HOUSE HOLD. I am sure you have heard of...The President's ADMINISTRATION.

In Ephesians 4:12 we read that God is EDIFYING THE BODY OF CHRIST. OK, now, "EDIFY" in the Greek is "OIKODOMEO". "OIKO" means House, and, "DONIEO" means Build. The House of God, which God is building in this age and DISPENSATION OF GRACE (Ephesians 3:1-4), is called "THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD; Without controversy a GREAT MYSTERY. (1 Timothy 3:15-16, Ephesians 5:31-32). Then, this HOUSE OF GOD, in Ephesians 3:6, is called "SUSSOMOS". "SUS" which means Joint, and, "SOMA" which means Body. God is building a "JOINT BODY". What is meant by "Joint Body", (because all of those IN Christ are ONE in Christ, ONE Body), is that both Jews and Gentiles as individuals are being added to the Body WITHOUT distinction, HENCE the Joint. So, in the building of this "CHURCH OF THE MYSTERY" (Colossians 1:24-26) unto Paul was committed "THE DISPENSATION OF GOD" (Colossians 1:24-26), and he was ordered by the risen Christ to "MAKE ALL SEE WHAT IS THE DISPENSATION (not fellowship) OF THE MYSTERY" (Ephesians 3:9). So the Apsotle Paul declared himself to be the Lord’s "WISE MASTERBUILDER" (Architect) who had laid the foundation. (1 Corinthians 3:10).

Surely then you must see that no Christian can obey Ephesians 3:9 and make others see "WHAT IS THE DISPENSATION OF THE MYSTERY" or obey Paul, in 1 Corinthians 3:10, and build together on the foundation that he laid, without being a DISPENSATIONALIST. So we see that surely no intelligent, spiritual, student of the Scriptures, led by the Holy Spirit, after reading 1 Corinthians 3:10, Colossians 1:24-26 and Ephesians 3:1-4, would or could believe that the foundation that Paul laid was the same as the foundation that Peter and the Eleven (Acts 2:14) laid on the day of Pentecost.

The Pagan Promised Redeemer. Mystery Babylon Secret Societies, part 4 - Pastor David

Secret societies were also looking the sudden appearance of a Promised Redeemer. However, their Promised Redeemer was not the One promised through Biblical prophecy; rather, their Promised Redeemer was a man who had reached perfection upon whom the ultimate Christ Consciousness would descend at the right moment in world history to lead the world into its foreseen "Golden Age". In other words, this counterfeit Christ for whom the Pagans were awaiting is the Anti-Christ. Satan had cleverly dispersed the prophecy of the coming Redeemer in many secret societies of that day. The Wise Men who came to Bethlehem seeking the king which had been born, had been awaiting for the Pagan Redeemer. More specifically, they were knowledgeable of the remarkably precise prophecy in Daniel 9:24-26, and they realized the world was within a man's lifetime of fulfillment. These men were members of the Pagan sect called the Zoroasters. This Persian sect were among the Wise Men of Babylon in Daniel 2:1-18. In fact, these Pagans classified Daniel as being a Wise Man in the same mold from which they were cast; as such they were very familiar with Daniel's writings, including the prophecy of the Seventy Weeks of years in Daniel 9:24-26.

The Jewish secret society, the Kabbalah, were looking for a Promised Redeemer of the same type as other secret societies. These Jews were awaiting for a man to arise from within a secret society, a mighty, rich ruler king in Israel, a warrior who would triumphantly lead Israel out of Gentile domination, ruling from the House of David forever.

They were horrified when Jesus' birth was announced to humble shepherds instead of to the ruling council of the Kabbalah. They rejected the very idea that the Promised Redeemer could possibly be born to peasant parents in a stable. Oh, no, their Redeemer would be born of secret society parents, who were wealthy, influential, and powerful. And, surely, this Redeemer would be born in a palace. Thus, they initially rejected the idea that Jesus could be the Christ.

Later, when Jesus began His ministry, these Jewish Kabbalists were further horrified at the prospect that Jesus might be the Promised Redeemer. In addition to his humble background, Jesus revealed hidden spiritual truth directly to the masses of the people. The Pharisees knew Jesus had learned the truth contained within the Old Testament; they assumed Jesus had learned it from a secret society somewhere. However, Jesus was not keeping these truths secret from the masses, but was eagerly and daily revealing it to them. Remember, secret societies require their members to keep all the secrets to which they have been exposed absolutely to themselves. The severe oaths, which every member of secret societies take, call for painful death to be executed if anyone revealed any secrets of the society to a nonmember. Thus, the Pharisees believed Jesus to be worthy of a severe and painful death.

Members of secret societies loathed the average citizen. They deliberately attempted to mislead them spiritually, and they built up social barriers to keep the masses separate from the members of the societies. Thus, when Jesus began to associate with the common people, and especially with the most sinful of the common people, the Pharisees knew Jesus could not be their Promised Redeemer. The Pharisees had carefully mislead the common people through the creation of the Talmud. The daily living restrictions of Talmudic law were so restrictive as to bind the people in absolute bondage to the Pharisees. The Talmud had also hid God's Divine Truth contained within the books of Moses. And Jesus responded dramatically to these "Traditions of Men", condemning them with extremely strong words. The Pharisees counterattacked with plots to kill Him.

Pharisees Hid the Truth. Mystery Babylon Secret Societies, part 3 - Pastor David

A key characteristic of secret society members is that they will deceive the common people of key truth, especially the truth of how to obtain eternal salvation; rather, they will keep this truth to themselves, as a means of power and privilege. Jesus spoke directly to this terrible situation in Luke 11:52, "Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered." The teachers and lawyers of the Law knew the simple truth that God had developed for people to be saved for eternity and to develop a love for Him. Yet, they hid this simple truth from the people, substituting the terribly suffocating system of daily rules of living against which Jesus so railed.

Matthew 23:27-28 says, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so, ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and uncleanness." The Pharisee had cleverly and effectively hidden the existence of these Satanic beliefs from their subjects, but could not hide it from the Omniscient Eyes of Jesus who is God.

Since the Pharisees believed man to be inherently good, they developed a system of salvation based upon works. This system of works was later to be called the Talmud; however, Jesus kept referring to it as the "Traditions of Men". The Bible clearly teaches, however, that man is inherently evil; therefore, there is absolutely no way that man can perform enough good works to completely atone for his evil. Jesus left no doubt that the Pharisees had concocted this system of works.

Both Pagan and true Judaic scholars were looking for a Messiah King to arise to lead mankind into new spiritual light and a new material prosperity. However, the pagans of the secret societies were looking for a Promised Redeemer which was far different than what the Bible taught was to come. Consequently, the people were badly misinformed as to what the true Redeemer was going to accomplish. They were looking for the King Redeemer, not ever being told that much Messianic prophecy was "Suffering Servant". They were looking for a King, but they got a Suffering Servant, and the vast majority missed Him!

Kabbalah Infiltrates Judaism. Mystery Babylon Secret Societies, part 2 - Pastor David

Realize, that TWO systems of Jewish oral teachings were created, one public and one secret. In the many centuries before the LORD Jesus Christ came in the flesh, this deadly virus penetrated Jewish religious leaders. These Jewish leaders were dabbling in the occult. A Jewish secret oral tradition began to be developed and put forward, distinctly separate from God's WRITTEN Word. The public teaching dealt with the affairs of everyday life, such as laws on buying and selling and making contracts, and what constituted work on the Sabbath; this practical law was later called the Talmud. The LORD Jesus strongly railed against these man-made laws upon the people, because it bound them so tightly to the priests. And, these standards were not from God; they were man-made so that the priests could control the people.

So, here we have, the Jewish priesthood, formulating a plan to bring all Jewish people into spiritual and physical bondage by creating this dual system of the public Talmud plus the very secret Kabbalah. The teachings of the public Talmud bound the people by almost 1,000 rules of everyday living and it began to move them away from the spiritual truth that God had revealed to Moses. Thus, an important requirement of a Mystery Babylon Secret Society was fulfilled: that of hiding the Truth from the people...partly by outright fabrication and partly by adding to God's Law.

Since Satan is the "lord of this World" he has the power to prosper those who follow and worship him. This was the bait that attracted those Jewish religious leaders to the Kabbalah. And, make no mistake about the fact that these Jewish leaders prospered greatly. Even though Israel was suffering under the bondage of Gentile rulers, such as Greece and Rome, the Jewish priests won a certain autonomy which enabled them to virtually rule dictatorially over their Jewish citizens. And, the common Jewish citizen simply did not understand that these religious leaders had foisted upon them a system which simultaneously put them under a yoke of bondage while elevating these leaders to positions of great power and wealth. And, the depth of misunderstanding was so great that the average Jewish citizen still greatly admired and honored these religious leaders who were so afflicting them.
