Thanksgiving Day Message - Pastor David

.

Philippians 4:5-7, “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your reqyuests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Worrying is as definitely forbidden as theft, according to our verse...and the whole of Scripture. This needs to be carefully considered and realized by Children of God, so that we do not excuse it as an innocent "weakness". The more we are convicted of the sinfulness of anxiety and worry, the sooner are we likely to perceive that it is most dishonouring to God, and "strive against" it (Hebrews 12:4). But how are we to "strive against" it?

We strive against worry by watching its beginning, and as soon as we are conscious of the harassment of our mind, as soon as we detect the unbelieving thought, lift up our heart to God and ask Him for deliverance from it. The best antidote for anxiety and worry is frequent meditation upon God’s goodness, power, and sufficiency. When the saint, the member of the Body of Christ, can confidently realize "The Lord is My Shepherd," he must then conclude, "I shall not want!"

The next part of our Bible verse is, "but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God." The "with thanksgiving" is super important, yet it is the point at which we most fail. It means that before we receive God’s answer, we thank Him for the same: it is the confidence of the child expecting his Father to be gracious.

Now hear the LORD's words from Matthew 6:25-33, "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought (anxious concern) for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:25-33).

Nothing is too big and nothing is too little to spread before and cast upon our great God and our Saviour, the LORD Jesus Christ.

WHAT IS ALLAH? ALLAH IS NOT THE GOD OF THE BIBLE - Pastor David

.

While many sincere and well-meaning, but MISGUIDED Christian pastors, preachers, and teachers, have argued that the word "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for "God", the facts are something quite different.

Even among Islamic scholars there is general agreement that the term "Allah" refers to a pagan deity before Islam came into existence under the leadership of Mohammed. The pre-Islamic Arab culture spoke of 360 gods of which "Allah" was simply just one of them.

The correct Arabic name for "God" is the word "Al-ilah". And it must be stated that it became a generic title for whatever god was considered the highest god.

EVERY Arab tribe used "Allah" to refer to its own particular high god. For example, the moon god called "Hubal" was the god to whom Arabs prayed at the Ka'aba and when they prayed they used the name "Allah".

Historians have said that "Allah" was the chief of the 360 gods that were worshiped in Arabia at the time that Mohammed came to prominence.

Now, some Muslims will become angry when hearing this history about "Allah". They don't want to believe or accept that "Allah" was already being worshipped at the Ka'aba in Mecca by Arab pagans before the time of Mohammed. There is also evidence that the term "Allah" was used by heathen Arabs not only in Arabia but also among the Nabateans.

The name "Allah" was well known in PRE-Islamic Arabia (as even the Qur'an testifies). Even the feminine form of the word is "Allat" (simply means "the goddess"), and is found in many inscriptions from North Africa as well as in Arabic inscriptions prior to Islam.

"Allah" is NOT a common name in Arabic for "God". Muslims must use another word or form to indicate any other than their own peculiar deity.

Other gods mentioned in the Qur'an are all FEMALE deities: "Al-Lat" and "al-Uzza" and "Manat" which are represented by the sun, the planet Venus, and Fortune or Destiny. At Mecca they were regarded as the daughters of "Allah"

Among the pagan Arabs before the time of Mohammed, the term "Allah" represented the chief god of their pantheon at the Ka'aba with its 360 idols. The central shrine at Mecca, the Ka'aba, is a cube-like stone structure that has a black stone in one of its corners that must be kissed as an ESSENTIAL ritual of the Haj, the pilgrimage that all Muslims must take at least once in their life to Mecca.

REMEMBER: since Satan is the ruler of this World, God allows him a certain degree of latitude of action which most Christians do not fully appreciate. NON-believers of Christ are taken captive by the devil AT HIS WILL. 2 Timothy 2:26.

Not of This World. The Child of God is NOT of This World - Pastor David

.

Just before the LORD Jesus closed His ministry on earth He said to His disciples, “if the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. if ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” (John 15:18-19). “I have spoken unto you that ‘IN ME’ ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). Then Christ said concerning His disciples, in His prayer to His Father, “THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, even as I am not of the world.” (John 17:16). Meditate on that verse for a few moments and try to grasp what the LORD is saying.

It would seem from these words of the LORD Jesus Christ that Christians would know that the term ‘worldly Christian’ seems to be paradoxical. Note how the world is described in 1 John 2:16, “All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is NOT of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth Forever.” Therefore Christians are instructed, in 1 John 2:15, “love not the world, neither the things in the world: if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” “The friendship of the world is enmity with God, whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4).

The unsaved person is said to walk ‘according to the course of this world’. (Ephesians 2:2). God thus instructs the saved person: “be not conformed to this world.” (Romans 12:2).

In Colossians 3, God explains to the Christian the meaning of Christ’s words in the seventeenth chapter of John, that the Christian is ‘IN THE WORLD’; but is ‘NOT OF THE WORLD’. Every Christian should read Colossians 3 at least one thousand times, and then by God’s all-sufficient Grace and almighty power, try to obey the command, “be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only.” There is no higher spiritual truth in the entire Bible than in Colossians 3, which begins, ”if ye then be raised with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affections on things above, NOT on things on the earth, Put to death therefore your members upon the earth”. After mentioning some of the sinful habits that are to be put away, these words of warning are added: “for which things’s sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.” (Colossians 3:6).

Note in this same Epistle to the Christians, or saints, what the LORD’s spiritual leaders wished for all of the Christians, and that for which they prayed fervently: “that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God” (Colossians 4:12)…“that ye might be filled with the knowledge of God’s will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that ye might walk worthy of the LORD unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:9-10).

Are You Spiritually Ignorant? Find out! - Pastor David

.

Because of the prayer of Christ on the cross (Luke 23:34), and because Christ's death had to be AS it was, and WHEN it was, by God's eternal decree and purpose, (Acts 3:18; Acts 4:25-28; Acts 2:22; 1 Peter 1:18-20), God was willing to forgive Israel's murder of Christ (Acts 7:51-54) on the ground of ignorance. (Acts 3:12-17). Some of the Israelites DID repent. But the rulers and the nation as a whole would not.

Later, from the Nation Israel, God had a remnant according to the election of Grace, and "The rest were blinded." (Romans 11:5-12). Israel stumbled over the Stumbling stone. (Romans 9:32-33). "For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to everyone that believeth.' (Romans 10:3-4).

Israelites, with the exception of a few Hebrew Christians, are STILL blind and still ignorant of God's righteousness. But a very large percentage of the Gentiles, including millions who are church-members, are just as ignorant as were, and are, the blind Jews. They prefer to endeavour to establish their own righteousness with God, which is impossible, rather than have the righteousness of God established by Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21). This righteousness by the Faith is available for any Gentile or Jew.

Because the rulers of this world were ignorant, they crucified Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:7-8). The natural man, even though cultured and exceedingly religious, is ignorant of spiritual things. They are foolishness unto him. (1 Corinthians 2:12-14; John 3:1-13).

Spiritual things are not revealed to the wordly wise, "the wise and the prudent"; but "unto babes and sucklings." THIS is God's way, (Luke 10:21, 1 Corinthians 1:27-31).

The Divine truth of Romans 11:25-33 is so important for Christians to believe. Read very carefully Romans 11:25-26, "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this Mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in, And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.'

When religious Christians are wise in their own conceits, the Holy Spirit cannot teach them this wonderful truth, which must be understood, if we are to know what God is now doing and what He will do in another age.

Why does the Holy Spirit say in 1 Thessalonians 4:13, "I would not have you ignorant"? Because He knew that religious sectarians, or denominationalists, would have their own creeds and programs, and that the truth of God concerning the Glorious Rapture of the Church would or could have no place in them.

So WHY? Why do the majority of even the most spiritual Christians NOT obey Ephesians 3:9, where we read, "And to make all men see what is the Dispensation of the Mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God"? Because they have, more or less, of Judaism in their programs, which they cherish more than an obedience to Ephesians 3:9, most Christians will not obey Ephesians 3:9 and Ephesians 1:16-18. Now you know!

Only as we understand the first mystery of Romans 11:25-33 can we begin to understand the Mystery of Christ in Ephesians and Colossians. We must know the truth of Romans 11:30, that Gentiles received God's mercy because of NATIONAL Israel's unbelief. Salvation was sent to Gentiles, when and because of the fall of Israel. (Romans 11:11). Now here is a point that needs to be hammered home...Israel had not fallen, or been set-aside at the time Peter preached to Cornelius.

Now, if those Christians, mentioned previously, are NOT ignorant of the prayers of Ephesians 1:16-18; Ephesians 3:14-19; Ephesians 6:19-20 and Colossians 4:3-4, then they are WILLFULLY shutting out the light which comes with receiving the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation for this special Glorious Truth!

Prayer...and the Child of God - Pastor David

.
“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Luke 18:1.

Christians not only have the privilege of praying to The Almighty God, Who is their Father; but they are commanded to pray to Him. God’s children prosper spiritually just in the degree they obey this most important command.

So many problems and schisms of the Body of Christ could be solved today, if God’s people would give themselves to prayer. How many defeated Christians there are, because of the neglect of prayer!

“He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

“The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers:” 1 Peter 3:12.

Is it not wonderful to think that a way has been provided whereby creatures here on this earth can really communicate with the Creator, who is all powerful and all wise; with the Great God who is a loving and compassionate Father of redeemed sinners, sensitive to all of their needs? The ears of the Reigning God, Who is Willing, Faithful and able, Who has never yet made one mistake, are open unto the praises and petitions of His children.

“Pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:6

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16.

“We know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26.

It is recorded of The LORD Jesus, the Son of God, went up into the mountain to pray, and that He continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 9:28, Mark 6:46, and Luke 6:12. Therefore, If the Holy Son of God prayed as He did, how about us? Men ought always to pray and not to faint!

The members the early Church “gave themselves continually to prayer” Acts 6:4.

Christians are told to “pray without out ceasing1 Thessalonians 5:7.

Pray alwaysColossians 1:3 and Ephesians 6:18.

Continuing instant in prayerRomans 12:12.

Give yourself to prayer and fasting1 Corinthians 7:5.

Pray lest ye enter into temptationLuke 22:46.

Pray for one anotherJames 5:16.

Be ye therefore sober and watch unto prayer1 Peter 4:7.

In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto GodPhilippians 4:6.

Night and day praying1 Thessalonians 3:10.

Evening and morning, and at noon will I pray” Psalm 55:17.

Supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men1 Timothy 2:1.

“The prayer of the upright is His delight.” Proverbs 15:8.

“What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit should we have, if we pray to Him?” Job 21:15.

“All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” Matthew 21:22.

“THAT YOUR PRAYERS BE NOT HINDERED.” 1 Peter 3:7

“Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:3.

“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Psalm 66:18.

“When ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”Mark 11:25.

Whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:22.

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us.” I John 5:14.

“If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it you.” John 16:23 and John 14:13.

When Stephen was dying he said, “LORD Jesus, receive my spirit.” Acts 7:59. But on the authority of the LORD Jesus, prayer should be directed to the Father, in the name of the Son.

May God help us to always be faithful in prayer.

Here are a few examples of answered prayer from the Old Testament Scriptures.

Genesis 20:17 ; Jonah 2:1 ; Numbers 11:2 ; Nehemiah 1:4 ; 1 Samuel 1:27 ; Nehemiah 2:4 ; 2 Kings 6:17 ; Ezra 10:1 ; 2 Kings 19:15 ; Daniel 6:11

May God help us to hear afresh the words of the Lord Jesus Christ as we look all about at the abounding sin and the powerless congregations, torn apart by demonic influence, remember, “This kind goeth not out but by PRAYER and fasting.Matthew 17:21 and Matthew 9:29.

The Word of God, The Bible...and the Child of God - Pastor David

.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth:” 2 Timothy 2:15 . “We are His workmanship.” Ephesians 2:10 .

As we stated in a previous article, we are not ready to work FOR God until we are sure that we are first the workmanship OF God, “created in Christ Jesus”. “God hath chosen you unto salvation through belief of the truth.”2 Thessalonians 2:13 ; “Thy Word is truth.” John 17:17 . The sinner saved by grace is the workmanship of God. To be saved by Grace is to be Born Again, “not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.”

There are times when some seem fearful that the Word of God will be destroyed; but the Psalmist said: “Forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in Heaven.” Psalm 119:89 . Truly the Word of God liveth and abideth forever. Men and generations may change in their attitude toward God’s Word, but His Word never changes. By this Word of God, we are Born Again, and become new born babes. “As new born babes desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.” 1 Peter 2:2 .

Some young Christians, as well as old ones, are unceasingly active, but growing very little, because they are not regularly and systematically studying the Word of God.

One of the signs of a healthy Christian is a real appetite for the Word of God, an appetite satisfied by constantly feeding upon that Word. Jeremiah said, “Thy Words were found, and I did eat them, and Thy Word was unto me the joy and the rejoicing of my heart.” Jeremiah 15:16 .

Hundreds of times in the Bible do we find the expression, “The Word of the Lord.” “God spake all these things.” Surely the Word of God is life giving and powerful, and “is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”. Hebrews 4:12 .

The moment doubt creeps into the heart as to the plenary inspiration of God’s Holy Book, the moment the individual begins to question the infallibility, accuracy or integrity of the Word of God, the moment Holy respect for God’s absolute authority begins to wane; what follows is that if faith and obedience are not restored, “Every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Judges 21:25

The Psalmist said, “I rejoice at Thy Word, as one that findeth great spoil.” Psalm 119:162 .

I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.” Job 23:12 .

The ignorance of the Word of God among Christians is appalling!

Think of the wonderful privilege that we have today with the complete revealed Will of God, bound in one volume, with every help imaginable; and yet how few Christians are taking advantage of their opportunity.

I heard a great line a while back that rings so true, “The Church today needs more teach and less preach.” Careful and prayerful Bible students are not easily swept off their feet with false doctrines into Satanic and fanatical cults. “Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace.” Hebrews 13:9 .

God’s instruction to the saint is, “Try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1 . Well how can we try them unless we know the Scripture which is “given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 .

Every Christian should be like those at Berea, who “were more noble than they at Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11 .

If you want to be a sower for God, remember, “The sower soweth the WordMark 4:14 . “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17 .

There is no substitute for the Word of God. God has not promised to bless our logic and eloquence; unless they convey to the human heart His own eternal Word. Nor has He promised to save souls by human philosophies and schemes. The seed is the Word of God,“the Holy Scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation.” 2 Timothy 3:15 .

When the Son of God was tempted by the devil He used the Sword of the Spirit, “It is written.” Luke 4:4 ; Luke 4:8-12 . So every Christian in his conflict against the Devil is instructed to use the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:17 . But how can you if you don’t know it!

Remember then, Christian, you cannot grow spiritually; you cannot defeat Satan; you cannot please God and get the greatest joy in your Christian life in service and victory; you cannot escape heresies; unless you diligently, systematically, and prayerfully study God’s Holy Book.

How sweet are Thy Words unto my taste! Yea sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103 .

So we are born by the Word of God. 1 Peter 1:23 . James 1:18-21 . 2 Thess. 2:13.

We grow by the Word of God. 1 Peter 2:1-2 .
We are built up by the Word of God. Acts 20:32 .
We are separated by the Word of God. John 17:17 .
We are clean through the Word of God. John 15:3 .
We are to go everywhere and preach the Word of God. 2 Timothy 4:2 ; Acts 8:4 .

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” 1 Peter 1:24-25.

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven” Psalms 119:89.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth; for thou bast magnified thy word above all thy name.” Psalms 138:2.

Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it” Psalms 119:140.

Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word. I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil” Psalms 119:161-162.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105.

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16 .
