Happy Thanksgiving Day from the Lion and Lamb Ministry

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!

It is well known that the First Thanksgiving Day was celebrated by the Pilgrim Fathers in 1621 to give thanks for their first harvest and safe arrival in the New World. In 1789, President George Washington issued a Thanksgiving Day Proclamation to commemorate the first Pilgrim celebration. And here is that proclamation,

“WHEREAS, it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.

“WHEREAS, both the houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” George Washington

While we are grateful that the Founding Fathers of these United States of America saw the need to establish a national holiday to thank God for all His benefits, for the BELIEVER in Christ, the Christian, every day should be a day of Thanksgiving. We should lift our heart DAILY in Praise and Thanksgiving to God for every blessing, both spiritual and material, that He has bestowed upon us.

As the Holy Spirit tells us through the Apostle Paul, "GIVING THANKS unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins". Colossians 1:12-14

"Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift!" 2 Cor. 9:15

"Thanks be unto God, who giveth us the victory!" 1 Cor. 15:57

"Thanks be unto God, who always causeth us to triumph!" 2 Cor. 2:14

Therefore, we at the Lion and Lamb Ministry pray that all of your members and visitors may be especially thankful for "The gift of God, (which), is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

“Believe on the LORD Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” Acts 16:31, while there is still time!

Grace be to you and peace, from God: our Father, and The LORD Jesus Christ.
