LLM Question of the Day, and, THE GOSPEL OF JOHN....THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, pt. 15 of 24

First the Question: The Apostle Paul was imprisoned for proclaiming Divine Truth, which he called The Mystery, or my Gospel. True or False?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

And now….

Today let us consider, THE GOSPEL OF JOHN....THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, pt. 15 of 24

FULFILLING THE LAW, AND, RIGHTEOUSNESS

As we, in this message, seriously consider Him Who suffered such contradiction of sinners, bleeding in Gethsemane and on the cross ( Hebrews 12:1-5), we should KNOW the truth of Romans 3:19, and Galatians 2:21, “what things soever the law saith, it saith to them that are under the law: THAT EVERY MOUTH MAY BE STOPPED, and all the world become GUILTY before God”. “I do not frustrate the Grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ has died in vain (for nothing).” With these statements we should read Romans 4:15 and Colossians 1:20; that the law worketh wrath, but that Christ made peace through the BLOOD of His cross.

So we read in Romans 8:3, “what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.” The result: believing sinners freed from the law of sin and death; then the righteousness of the law could be fulfilled in believers who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4).

THE BAPTISM OF CHRIST

When Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized, John forbade. “And Jesus answering said unto him (John): suffer it now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matthew 3:13-15). In Matthew 5:17 these words were spoken by the Lord Jesus, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”

In Luke 12:50 we learn that when the LORD Jesus was thinking of the agony of Calvary He said, “I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished.” This ‘death’ baptism of God’s Son was part of the work which He had to finish. It was the principal part; for in the shadow of the cross He said, “For this cause came I unto this hour.” (John 12:27). Christ testified that He must be lifted up as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness (John 3:14), “signifying what death He should die.” (John 12:33).

Christ’s death on the cross was His ‘baptism’. (Luke 12:50). Think on this.

Christ called the death of James, the brother of John, by Herod’s sword, James’ ‘baptism’. (Matthew 20:20-24, Acts 12:1-2). Later on Peter received his ‘martyr’ baptism. (John 21:18, and, 2 Peter 1:14). John was told that he would receive his ‘martyr’ baptism. (Matthew 20:23). However, James and Peter and John did not fulfill all righteousness when they received their ‘death’ baptism. They did become righteous when they were baptized BY the Holy Spirit INTO the death of Christ.

LLM Question of the Day for 9-27-2011, and, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 10 of 10+

First the Question: The Apostle Paul was imprisoned for proclaiming Divine Truth, which he called The Mystery, or my Gospel. True or False?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

And now the answer to the LLM Question of 9-22-2011

Question: The Dispensation of the Grace of God did not begin with Peter and Pentecost, but with Saul after his name was changed to Paul. True or False?

Answer: TRUE! And not only that, but, NOT ONE of the twelve apostles referred to the “Church” as the “Body.” The Greek word “Soma” is used exclusively in the writings of the Apostle Paul and is found in his Epistles many times, referring to the Church. The “Body” thus used is always the “Church,” but the “Church” is not always the “Body.”

Today let us consider, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 10 of 10+

Here is the NINTH set of Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, but first, as always, here are the very important FIVE different groups or classes of people who are addressed from the first chapter of Matthew to the last chapter of Revelation:

1) To unsaved Israelites who were under the Law.

2) To saved Israelites who were under the Law before they became members of the Body of Christ.

3) To unsaved Gentiles who were aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel, and not under the Law.

4) To carnal saints and babes who were members of the Body of Christ.

5) To those who were of full age, called “the faithful in Christ Jesus.”

Remember, for an in-depth explanation of these five different groups I urge you to read “Super bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 1”. Keep these five different groups in mind, and you will derive both blessing and benefit as you carefully study this ninth set of 10 Super-Facts.

Ok, here we go:

1) Note Acts 28:28, “Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.” And Ephesians 3:8, “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.” The word “unsearchable” is literally “untraceable” or “not to be traced.” It means NOT prophesied in the Scriptures. After the Apostle Paul's statement in Acts 28:25-28, salvation was sent to the Gentiles with a program and order NEVER BEFORE mentioned. Paul preached to Gentiles a two fold message; namely, Divine Truth prophesied in the Old Testament Scriptures and Divine Truth which had NEVER been revealed to one single person UNTIL the RISEN Christ revealed it to Paul; hence, the “mystery” (secret). Paul preached the “searchable” riches AND the “unsearchable” riches of Christ.

2) Now note Ephesians 3:1-2, and Ephesians 3:9, “For this cause I, Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye heard of the dispensation of the Grace of God, which is given me to you-ward.” “And to make all men see what is the fellowship (Dispensation) of the Mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, Who created all things by Jesus Christ.” Surely these messages were not proclaimed before Paul told of the door opened by God for the Gentiles. Acts 14:27. Take note, for preaching THESE messages was the jail door was opened for Paul and closed ON him. Colossians 4:3-4, Ephesians 6:19, Ephesians 6:29, 2 Timothy 2:6-9. IF YOU proclaim them very few if ANY denominational doors will be opened for you. Galatians 1:10.

3) In connection with these glorious truths, we have God's message against sectarianism (denominations), against any and all divisions of the Body of Christ. Ephesians 4:3-6. “There is one Body.” And remember that by the ONE Divine baptism of Ephesians 4:5, the member of that ONE Body, of which Christ is the Head, has been raised to sit in the heavenlies in Christ. He is complete in Christ, identified with Him in crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection, with heavenly citizenship, waiting to appear with Christ in glory.

4) We can never understand the Bible until we learn from God's Word and by God's Spirit that the “Dispensation of the Grace of God”, the “Dispensation of the Mystery” did NOT begin with Peter and Pentecost, but with Saul after his name was changed to Paul. The realization and application of this most important truth will keep God's children out of fanaticism and deliver them from religious delusions and dispensational blunders; and cause them to begin to understand the truth of Ephesians 4:13-14.

5) Now note 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife and DIVISIONS, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?” Compare Ephesians 1:1 and Ephesians 1:17, “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. That we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lay in wait to deceive.” Ephesians 4:13-14.

Please pay ATTENTION: From Matthew 1 to Revelation 22, five groups of people are addressed:

1. Israel under the law.

2. Individual saved Israelites from Matthew 1 to Acts 9, under the law.

3. Gentiles, not under the law.

4. Carnal members of the Body of Christ, babes in Christ.

5. To the faithful in Christ Jesus in Christ's Body; those of full age. Hebrews 5:12-14.

Only those in group 5 intelligently apply the Scriptures to the particular group for whom God intended them, and thus obey 2 Timothy 2:15, “rightly dividing the Word of truth.”

6) Note in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, the sign-gifts found among the Corinthian saints: “wisdom,” knowledge,” “faith,” “healing,” “miracles,” “prophecy,” “discerning of spirits,” “tongues,” “interpretation of tongues.” Note in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, and 1 Corinthians 6:8, that the Corinthian saints were CARNAL, able to take only the milk which belonged to babes in Christ, and that they were defrauding one another. But they exercised all the sign gifts. This is proof that the exercise of sign gifts by a saint does NOT prove that that saint is either unusually spiritual or peculiarly faithful. In fact, these sign-gifts can NOT be found among even the most spiritual members of Christ's Body today. Remember Christian teaching and practice may be Scriptural but un-dispensational.

7) Again note that the Corinthians were addressed as “saints” and “sanctified” ones. 1 Corinthians 1:1. They had been washed, sanctified, justified (1 Corinthians 6:11). Here “sanctified” preceded “justified.” This is true also in 2 Thessalonians 2:13, “sanctified unto salvation.” Many of the sanctified Corinthians did wrong (1 Corinthians 6:8): they “walked as men” (1 Corinthians 3:3), they were carnal and defrauded one another. Some of them were chastened unto sickness and physical death for their disobedience; BUT THEY COULD NOT BE CONDEMMED WITH THE WORLD! 1 Corinthians 11:27-32. This is PROOF that sanctification, does not mean sinless perfection, or a Divine work subsequent to salvation!

8) Note, in 1 Corinthians 12:13, “For by ONE Spirit are we all baptized into ONE Body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bound or free; and have been all made to drink into ONE Spirit.” By (in) one Spirit believing Jews and Gentiles have been baptized into ONE Body. By that baptism they had put on Christ. Galatians 3:27. By that baptism they had been baptized into the death of Christ; their old man had been crucified, and they had been raised to walk in newness of life. Romans 6:3-7. Compare this “death” baptism with the death baptism of Christ in Luke 12:50 and the ONE baptism of Ephesians 4:5 and Colossians 2:12. Compare this ONE Divine baptism with the one baptism in the first chapters of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, “baptism unto repentance for the remission of sins.” There was one baptism while Christ was on earth. There was one baptism after Israel was set aside, as recorded in Romans 11:13 and Acts 28:25-28. These baptisms were different. Ephesians 4:5. John 1:31.

9) Note three reasons why believing Jews and Gentiles were NOT baptized in ONE Spirit in ONE Body while Christ was on earth in the flesh.

1. The Holy Spirit not yet given. John 7:39.

2. No mention of the Body of Christ until Saul became Paul.

3. Go not into the way of the Gentiles. Matthew 10:5.

In Romans 10:12 (about 60 A.D.) we see no difference between Jews and Gentiles as to God's salvation and blessing; BUT in Matthew 15:21-27, a GREAT difference.

10) Note that NOT ONE of the twelve apostles referred to the “Church” as the “Body.” The Greek word “Soma” is used exclusively in the writings of the Apostle Paul and is found in his Epistles many times, referring to the Church. The “Body” thus used is always the “Church,” but the “Church” is not always the “Body.” Some Christians endeavor to prove that the Body of Christ began, HISTORICALLY, on the day of Pentecost, because the Apostle Paul declared that he persecuted the Church of God. 1 Corinthians 15:9. Philippians 3:6. Galatians 1:13. The Body of Ephesians 1:19-22 began with the Dispensation of the Grace of God (Ephesians 3:1 to 3), and the Dispensation of the Mystery (Ephesians 3:9). The Body of Christ did NOT begin with Peter at Pentecost, but with the RISEN Christ's revelation to Saul AFTER he became Paul. Once the Church is called the Sussoma or joint-Body. Ephesians 3:6.

A BONUS number of Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study will be coming up, so stay tuned.

LLM Question of the Day, and, The Bible is the Inerrant Word of God!

First the Question: The Dispensation of the Grace of God did not begin with Peter and Pentecost, but with Saul after his name was changed to Paul. True or False?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

And now….

Today let us consider, The Bible is the Inerrant Word of God!

The Bible is peculiarly the Book of God. It is the revelation of God to the human race. We must learn to view the The Bible as a message system. It's not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors over thousands of years, which, you have to admit, is a miracle unto itself! However, the Bible is an integrated whole; which bears the evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail!

The first Book is called Genesis. Genesis is the Book of beginnings. The first five Books of the Bible are called the “Pentateuch.” “Pente” means “five.” Some Jews refer to these five Books as “the Books of Moses.” The five Books are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

Moses was born in Egypt. Moses was a descendant of Levi, who was one of the sons of Jacob, or Israel. Moses was the man whom God chose to write the first Books of the Bible.

The last Book of the Bible is called “The Revelation”, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.” The Greek word translated “Revelation” is “Apokalupsis.” This word means “the unveiling”, (and NOT “The End”, as many believe). The human author, whom God used to write “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”, the last Book of the Bible, was the Apostle John.

While Jesus Christ was on earth He selected twelve apostles, four of whom were fishermen. These four apostles were Andrew and Simon and James and John. Andrew and Simon were brothers. Simon was later on named “Peter” by the Lord Jesus Christ. James and John were also brothers. They were called “Boanerges”. Mark 3:17, “And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and He surnamed them Boanerges, which is, the sons of thunder.” “Boanerges” means “the sons of thunder.”

Simon Peter and John were partners in the fishing business. Matthew 4:18, “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.”

Then He saw James and John with their father. They were in their fishing boat mending their nets. Matthew 4:21. The Lord said, “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.” Peter and John became partners in the business of fishing for men. They labored together in the service of the Lord, witnessing concerning His life and works and ministry, His death and resurrection. Luke 22:8, Acts 3:1-3, Acts 3:11, Acts 4:13, Acts 4:19, and Acts 8:14.

John, the brother of James, outlived all the other apostles of Jesus Christ. He is called in the Bible, “that apostle whom Jesus loved.” John 13:23, John 19:26, John 20:2, John 21:7, and John 21:20. Like Moses, the first human author, the Apostle John wrote five Books of the Bible: “The Gospel of John” and three Epistles, “1 John”, “2 John”, and “3 John”, and “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Now, concerning Moses, note this statement in the Bible, Numbers 12:3, “Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.” Moses died about 1455 B. C. (Before Christ). Moses was 120 years old when he died. Deuteronomy 34:7, ”And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died.”

The Apostle John was about 100 years of age when he died. He died about 100 A. D. (Anno Domini), “the year of the Lord.” The last Book of the Bible was written between 1500 and 1600 years AFTER the first Book of the Bible was written.

Moses was God’s appointed deliverer and leader of Israel. Moses was God’s law-giver. God’s call of Moses is recorded in Exodus 3:4-14, “And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, ‘Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. “And He said, ‘Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.’” “Moreover He said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. “And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.”

“Come now therefore and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt” Exodus 3:10.

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” Exodus 3:14.

At the time of his call by God, Moses was a shepherd. Exodus 3:1. That was about 1495 B. C. At that time Moses was 80 years old. Exodus 7:7, “And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.”

Other shepherds who wrote Books in the Bible were David and Amos.

1 Samuel 16:11-13, “And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down until he come hither. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.”

Amos 1:1, “The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jereboam, the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.”

Thus we see that the first Book of the Bible was written by a shepherd and the last Book by a fisherman.

We learned also that Peter was a fisherman. Peter wrote two Books of the Bible: two Epistles, 1 Peter, and 2 Peter. Peter was quite an old man when he died. When Peter and the Lord Jesus Christ were here on earth together the Lord Jesus told Peter when and how he would die, John 21:18-19, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, when thou wast young thou girdest thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. Thus spake He signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He saith unto him, Follow Me.” Shortly before his death Peter referred to the statement of Jesus Christ, 2 Peter 1:13-14, “Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance: Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.”

We have learned that Simon Peter, his brother Andrew, James, and John, were four of the twelve apostles whom Jesus Christ, while on earth, selected from His many disciples. Of His twelve apostles, John wrote five of the Books of the Bible, Peter wrote two of the Books, Levi (Matthew) wrote one. Matthew wrote the first Book after the death of Christ; it is called “Matthew”. It is generally believed that James, who wrote the Epistle of James, was one of the twelve apostles. This James is thought to be the James called “the Lord’s brother”. Galatians 1:19. He was not the brother of John. John’s brother, James, was killed by Herod about 45 A. D. Acts 12:1-2, “Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John, with the sword.” So we learn that Christ had two apostles by the name of James.

Then the sixty fifth Book of the Bible, one of the shortest Books in the Bible (one chapter of 25 verses) was written by Jude. It bears his name. It is generally believed that he was one of the twelve apostles. We have mentioned six of the twelve apostles, Simon Peter, John, James, Andrew, Jude, and James. It is thought that Jude was also called “Thaddaeus”. Matthew 10:3.

ADAM AND CHRIST - B. C. and A. D.

We have explained that B. C. means “before (Jesus) Christ”, that is, before He was born of Mary in Bethlehem. A. D. means years since that great event took place. Dating back B. C. from the birth of Christ to the creation of Adam there were about 4000 years of the history of the human race.

According to the Bible the first man was Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45 and 1 Corinthians 15:47, “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening Spirit.” And, “The first man is of the earth, earthy: the Second Man is the Lord from heaven.”

If we date from the birth of Adam, we call the year “A. H.”, Anno Homini. This means, “the year of man”. Some people speak of A. M., “Anno Mundi”. This means, “the year of the world.” We have no way of telling how many thousands, or millions, of years since the world was made. But we can be quite accurate in fixing the date of the making of the first man and his wife, Adam and Eve. They were in the Garden of Eden about 4000 years “Before Christ”. Therefore Christ was born about 4000 Anno Homini, “the year of man”.

Note that about 4000 years elapsed between the time the first man was in the Garden of Eden and the time that the little Child Jesus was in the manger at Bethlehem.

GOD - CHRIST

Now, note the first verse of Genesis and the last verse of The Revelation, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1, and, “The Grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” Revelation 22:21

Thus the Bible begins with God and the Bible closes with the LORD Jesus Christ. Note the words of Christ in Revelation 1:8: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the Almighty.”

The Bible is peculiarly God’s Book. It is God’s revelation to the human race. Note this plain and important statement in the Bible concerning the Bible in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

The Greek word translated “given by inspiration of God” is “theopneustos”. This means “God breathed”. This is somewhat explained in 2 Peter 1:20-21, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were MOVED by the Holy Ghost.”

The Holy Spirit is infallible. Men who wrote the Books of the Bible did not write their own ideas or doctrines. They were moved or “carried along” by the infallible Holy Spirit. Hence the following statements concerning God’s Word:

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower thereof fadeth away: But the Word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the Word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” 1 Peter 1:24-25

“For ever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven.” Psalms 119:89

“I will worship toward Thy holy temple, and praise Thy name for Thy loving kindness and for Thy truth; for Thou hast magnified Thy Word above all Thy name.” Psalms 138:2

“For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Now let us note what the LORD Jesus Christ said about the Scriptures and Himself:

John 5:39, “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.”

Luke 24:25-27, “Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe ALL that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”

Luke 24:45-46, “Then opened He their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures. And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.”

Then note several other Scriptures, spoken or written AFTER Christ went back to heaven:

Acts 4:27-28, “For of a truth against Thy holy Child Jesus, Whom Thou hast anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were gathered together for to do whatsoever Thy hand and Thy counsel determined before to be done.”

Acts 26:22-24, “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, ‘Paul thou art beside thyself: much learning doth make thee mad.’

1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; “And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”

The Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned in the 27 Books, from Matthew to Revelation, by noun and pronoun, more than 6900 times.

The very heart of the Bible is the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ, Who was in the Godhead in creation, came down from Heaven to die for sin; that is, He appeared ONCE in the end of the ages to put away sin by the ONCE sacrifice of Himself. Hebrews 9:26. But note the fact also of His resurrection and ascension; for He went back to heaven where He now lives at God’s right hand, “This Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God.” Hebrews 10:12.

This was all in fulfillment of God’s infallible Scriptures, according to God’s infallible Word. The Bible, God’s message system, in reflecting its supernatural origin, tells us, and explains to us that God’s free gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” Acts 16:31, while there is still time!

So There You Have it!

Is The Bible Really the Inspired Word of God?

It is quite obvious to many believers that the Bible itself is under attack. The Bible was the textbook for America for over 100 years and we produced the greatest generation of scholars, scientists, lawyers, judges, doctors, teachers, and preachers that the world had ever seen!

Now, we are more sophisticated (we think!) and have become “judges” and “critics” of the Bible. Its historicity and accuracy is being challenged by many people, both secularists as well as religious people. We continue to question the authenticity of the Bible and the majority of Americans doubt that the Bible IS THE Word of God and that it is inspired of God.

SO, WHAT DO WE MEAN BY “INSPIRATION”?

Inspiration does NOT refer to the writers, but rather to the writings. 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.” 2 Peter 1:20-21 insists that the writers were controlled by the Holy Spirit so that what was written was accurate and exactly what God wanted to communicate to us.

There is “external evidence” (like manuscripts, historical and archaeological facts, geographical information, etc.) as well as “internal evidence” (what the Bible claims about itself) that affects what we mean by “inspiration.”

Here is a possible definition: INSPIRATION IS THE ACT OF GOD BY WHICH HE COMMUNICATED HIS WORD IN WRITTEN FORM AND DIRECTLY CONTROLLED THE WRITERS SO THAT WHAT WAS WRITTEN (original autographs) WAS FREE FROM ERROR!

The Bible is not only “inspired of God” - it is also inerrant (without error in the original autographs). It is the most translated and distributed book before the invention of printing (1450 AD) in the history of the world! No other writing is close to its manuscript evidence. Over 5500 Greek manuscripts, 10,000 Latin manuscripts, and over 1000 manuscripts in other languages - all before the invention of printing! Incredible to say the least!

Inspiration refers to ALL that was written - not just parts of it. If you can’t trust the Bible’s historical facts, then how can you trust its moral and spiritual teachings? The Bible is the most amazing book of all history - actually it is a library (like an integrated software system!) of 66 books.

The Old Testament has 39 books in the Protestant Bible (exactly the same as the Jewish Bible, the Tanakh, but organized differently in three major sections - the torah, the prophets, and the writings.) The New Testament contains 27 books. The ROMAN Catholic Bible has added some 14 Jewish apocryphal books, but the early church NEVER considered them inspired of God even though some of them do contain valuable history. There have been some modern attempts (Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Judas, etc.) to add books to the Bible as though they were on the level of the authorized canon of the Scriptures - but it won’t work! These “pseudo-graphic” writings clearly reveal that they are outside the realm of Biblical authority and authenticity.

The Bible itself will bring a person salvation Romans 10:17, 2 Timothy 3:14-15, 1 Peter 1:23-25; and give discernment to the believer as to what is right and wrong Hebrews 5:11-14. Through the Bible we gain effectiveness in prayer John 15: 7, 1 John 5:14; and we are enabled to live victoriously over sin Psalm 119:9-11, John 15:3, 1 Peter 2:2-3. Through the Bible the true believer can be equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

But, how do we know that the Bible is a FINAL and COMPLETE revelation of God in written form? Let’s go to our message, The Bible: The Inerrant Word of God

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” Acts 16:31, while there is still time!

LLM Question of the Day for 9-22-2011, and, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 9 of 10

First the Question: The Dispensation of the Grace of God did not begin with Peter and Pentecost, but with Saul after his name was changed to Paul. True or False?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

And now the answer to the LLM Question of 9-17-2011

Question: Stephen saw Christ standing in Heaven. Was Christ, STANDING, ready to come back as King then, at that moment. Yes or No?

Answer: YES! Note in Acts 3:16-18 and Acts 3:26, the fact that God was not only ready to pardon Israel's sin against the Son of man, but to send Him BACK to Israel, IF their rulers would repent. On this question, out of 643 responses, AMAZINGLY only 25.7% of you got it right. Another area where there is much work to be done! Therefore…

Today let us consider, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 9 of 10

Here are the next TEN Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, but first, as always, here are the very important FIVE different groups or classes of people who are addressed from the first chapter of Matthew to the last chapter of Revelation:

1) To unsaved Israelites who were under the Law.

2) To saved Israelites who were under the Law before they became members of the Body of Christ.

3) To unsaved Gentiles who were aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel, and not under the Law.

4) To carnal saints and babes who were members of the Body of Christ.

5) To those who were of full age, called “the faithful in Christ Jesus.”

Remember, for an in-depth explanation of these five different groups I urge you to read “Super bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 1”. Keep these five different groups in mind, and you will derive both blessing and benefit as you carefully study this eighth set of 10 Super-Facts.

Ok, here we go:

1) In Acts 1:16-26, we learn it was in fulfillment of prophecy, that Judas lost his place among the twelve apostles and that Matthias took that place. But in 1 Corinthians 15:8, we learn that Paul was a witness born out of due time. The important thing to note is, that there were eleven apostles present when the RISEN Christ gave to them the commission of Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:14-18; but there had to be TWELVE apostles ready for Pentecost. “PETER STOOD UP WITH THE ELEVEN.” Acts 2:14. When Judas died a successor was chosen. This is the ONLY case of Apostolic succession. Twelve men standing on the day of Pentecost addressed all the house of Israel, twelve tribes. Acts 2:36. They were devout Jews from every nation under heaven. “Unto all Israel, near and far off, through all the countries.” Daniel 9:7.

2) In Acts 12:1-2, we learn that when the second of the twelve apostles died, no successor was chosen to keep the number “TWELVE.” Why was a successor chosen when Judas died and NONE was chosen to succeed James, the brother of John? Let us remember, on the day of Pentecost TWELVE men stood up (Acts 2:11) to preach to all the house of Israel twelve tribes. Acts 2:36. THIS is the refutation of the “apostolic succession” heresy of Roman Catholicism. And also the answer to the Pentecostalists’ errors.

3) After James died, the Holy Spirit separated Barnabas and Saul for a new work. Acts 13:2. Saul had been testifying for several years before the commission of Acts 13:2. With the record of the commission of Acts 13:2, the RECORD of the ministry of the twelve apostles during the “Acts” period ends. Again, we say the record. They are never mentioned again in Acts except as they have dealings with Paul. In the last sixteen chapters of Acts, we have principally the record of the acts of one human, Saul of Tarsus, the Apostle Paul, who is mentioned more than 100 times.

4) In Matthew 12:27-33, we have the Lord's Word concerning Israel's sin against the Son of man, and their sin against the Holy Spirit, the “PARDONABLE” sin and the “UNPARDONABLE” sin. About eighty times in the Four Gospels Christ is called “the Son of man.” It was His title for Himself, not used by others until the words of Stephen in Acts 7:56, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God”. Israel sinned against the Son of man and had Him crucified. This sin was pardonable for He prayed from the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34. Paul does not speak of Christ either as “the Son of man” or “Jesus of Nazareth” in connection with the Body of Christ.

5) Note in Acts 3:16-18 and Acts 3:26, the fact that God was not only ready to pardon Israel's sin against the Son of man, but to send Him back to Israel, if their rulers would repent. When they killed Stephen he was filled with the Holy Spirit when he saw the Son of man whom Israel had crucified. Israel sinned against the Holy Spirit. Acts 7:51. That was the unpardonable sin. Note in Acts 5:32 that the Holy Spirit was God's witness concerning Israel's sin against the Son of man, His death, and resurrection. Note also Acts 18:5-6 and Acts 13:40-41. Ephesians 2:1-9 teaches that no Gentile did or could commit the unpardonable sin. Very important to understand!

6) Then note the dispensational miracle in Acts 13:6-16. The three characters: “Bar-Jesus,” a Jew, “Sergius (Paul) Paulus,” the Gentile, and Saul (the Apostle Paul), the preacher. “Paulus” (Paul) wanted to hear the gospel from Saul (the Apostle Paul). “Bar-Jesus,” (meaning the son of Jehovah-Savior) sought to turn the Gentile AWAY from the Faith. God sent blindness upon the Jew and the Gentile believed and Saul became Paul: “Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord” Acts 13:12. “Saul” became “Paul”. Therefore the truth of Acts 13:46. And God sent blindness on Israel. Israel fell, and salvation was sent to Gentiles by Paul. Read Romans 11:8-11. Never forget the tremendous significance of this dispensational miracle.

7) Now look at what followed this dispensational miracle? “Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold and said, It was necessary that the Word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.” Acts 13:46. Here was a very definite turning point in God's program. This was in Asia. The same definite change in Europe is indicated in Acts 18:5-6, “And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. And when they opposed themselves and blasphemed, he shook his raiment and said unto them, Your blood he upon your own heads: I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.” Thus we learn that Bar-jesus (the child of Jehovah-Savior) speaks of Israel. The unbelief and blindness of “Bar-jesus” speaks of the blindness of Israel that brought salvation to the Gentiles. Romans 11:30 and Romans 11:11-17.

8) In the verses just quoted we have the truth of Romans 11:8, Romans 11:11, and Romans 11:30: “According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; unto this day.” “I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.” “For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief.” Remember Acts 13:12, when the Gentiles saw the blindness of the Jew, he believed. “Astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.” Do YOU see the doctrine?

9) Note carefully, in Acts 14:1, that many Greeks believed. This is the first mention of the salvation of Greeks. Grecians were different from Greeks. Grecians were Greek Jews. After the record of the “salvation” of these Gentiles, we have the words of Acts 14:27, “And when they were come, and had gathered the Church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how He had opened the door of Faith unto the Gentiles.” We must not have this door open before God opened it. Acts 14:27 marked a change in God's program. We must study all Scripture as to whether the preaching and events were before or after the truth of Acts 14:27.

10) Note again Matthew 10:5-8, “These twelve Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, GO NOT INTO THE WAY OF THE GENTILES, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go preach, saying, The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” And Acts 10:28, “It is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to come unto one of another nation.” Now compare this with Acts 14:27, “And when they were come and had gathered the Church together they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how HE HAD OPENED THE DOOR OF FAITH UNTO THE GENTILES.” This was about 13 years after Pentecost!

LLM Question of the Day, and, THE GOSPEL OF JOHN....THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, pt. 14 of 24

First the Question: Stephen saw Christ standing in Heaven. Was Christ, STANDING, ready to come back as King then, at that moment. Yes or No?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

and NOW, Today let us consider….

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN....THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, pt. 14 of 24

MY FATHER WORKETH HITHERTO AND I WORK

In John 5:18 we read that the Jews sought to kill Jesus, because He healed the impotent man on their Sabbath and because He said, “My Father worketh hitherto: and I work.” (John 5:17). They understood from this statement that the Lord Jesus made Himself equal with God. (John 5:18). Again they sought to stone Him when He said, in John 10:30, “I and Father are ONE.” The Lord Jesus said to Philip, His apostle, “he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father.” (John 14:9).

In speaking to and concerning His Father, in John’s Record, the Lord Jesus called Him ‘FATHER’ about ten times, ‘THE FATHER’, about 70 times, and ‘MY FATHER’ about 38 times. In John’s Record God, the Father, is mentioned 122 times. No other Book in the New Testament Scriptures mentions the ‘FATHER’ even half this number; in fact God is mentioned as ‘FATHER’ a greater number of times in John’s Record than in Matthew, Mark, Luke, Acts and in all of Paul’s Epistles combined. “FATHER” is in John’s five Books 144 times. We have already observed that God, the Son, is called ‘JESUS’ more than 250 times in John which is far more than in any other Book in the Bible. It is interesting to note that God is called ‘FATHER’, 269 times in Books from Matthew to Revelation.

At Sinai the Lord God gave man some work which he was never able to do. (Acts 15:10). The people had said to Moses, “All that the Lord hath spoken, we will do.” (Exodus 19:8). A short while after this pledge the same people said to Moses, after God had given him the ten commandments, “speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (Exodus 20:19). About 1500 years later Christ said to the same nation, “Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?” (John 7:19). But in rejecting their Messiah, by Whom came Grace and Truth, they said, “we are Moses’s disciples.” (John 9:28). “Being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” (Romans 10:3). They made the fatal blunder mentioned in Romans 9:32, “they sought not righteousness by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone.” (Romans 9:32).

So now, here’s the question: In this year, 2011 A.D. how many church members even try to understand Romans 4:4? How few of them receive and believe this truth of God, “Now to him that worketh is the reward NOT reckoned of Grace, but of debt?”

“But to him that worketh NOT but believeth in Him that justifieth the ungodly his faith is counted for righteousness.” (Romans 4:4-5). In Romans 10:4 we read that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. As to how this was accomplished, we are told in 2 Cor. 5:21, that the Lord Jesus, Who knew no sin, was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus Christ, the Righteous (1 John 2:1), became our Sinbearer, bearing our sins in His own Body on the tree. (1 Peter 2:24).

LONG BEFORE God “sabbathed” on the seventh day, after six days of creation, “resting from all His work which He had made” (Genesis 2:1-2), He and His Son, Who before the foundation of the world was in the form of God, entered into an agreement that that Son was to come to this earth as the spotless Lamb of God to bear away the sins of the world. (1 Peter 1:18-23).

When God’s sabbath was ENDED at the time sin entered, by Adam, into the world (Romans 5:12), God promised that His Son would come as the Seed of the woman (Genesis 3:14-15). Later on, the obedient Son of the Father said, “Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God.” (Hebrews 10:7). The whole creation was travailing in pain. (Romans 8:22). The whole world was lying in the Wicked One. (1 John 5:19). God was working. Satan was working. The children of Adam were being conceived in sin and shapen in iniquity. At the time of the flood “God saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5).

Again after the flood the human race decided to give up God; and God gave them up. (Romans 1:21-32). Out of the wreck and ruin of humanity God established one Nation on the earth. Through this Nation (Israel) God continued to work. Within a few centuries God said to that people, “Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, they have forsaken the Lord.” ”The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but ISRAEL doth not know, my people doth not consider.” (Isaiah 1:1-4). Then this appraisal of God’s chosen nation (chosen to be His peculiar nation) is recorded in the verses that follow, “The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness, but wounds and bruises and putrifying sores” (Isaiah 1:5-6).

This was God’s holy Nation, through whom He was to do His work for the rest of the human race. This was the Nation, who said at Sinai, “all that the Lord hath spoken we will do.” (Exodus 19:8). God gave them a perfect work to do, the ten commandments. With that perfect work God included a Sabbath. God rested in His perfect work of creation. In Hebrews 10:10-14 we learn that Christ rested in a perfect work of redemption. To accomplish that perfect work of redemption, the Author (Causer) of eternal salvation, (Hebrews 5:8-9), had to become the Man of Sorrows acquainted with grief, had to be despised and rejected by His own chosen nation and forsaken by His own Father, crying on the cross, “My God! My God! Why hast Thou forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). In Gethsemane the Lord of glory sweat as it were great drops of blood. He was very heavy and said, “My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death.” (Mark 14:34). As He contemplated Calvary He prayed to His Father, “take away this cup from Me: nevertheless not what I will, but what Thou wilt.” (Mark 14:36). All of this was included in the Father’s Will concerning His Son’s work for a condemned human race. That Son, Who was obedient unto death (Philippians 2:5-11), said “I came down from heaven not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.” (John 6:38).

As we seriously consider Him Who suffered such contradiction of sinners, bleeding in Gethsemane and on the cross ( Hebrews 12:1-5), we should know the truth of Romans 3:19 and Galatians 2:21, “what things soever the law saith, it saith to them that are under the law: that EVERY MOUTH MAY BE STOPPED, and all the world become guilty before God”. “I do not frustrate the Grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ has died in vain (for nothing).” With these statements we should read Romans 4:15 and Colossians 1:20; that the law worketh wrath, but that Christ made PEACE through the blood of His cross.

So we read in Romans 8:3, “what the law could NOT do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.”

And what is the result? The result: believing sinners freed from the law of sin and death; then the righteousness of the law could be fulfilled IN BELIEVERS who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4).

LLM Question of the Day for 9-17-2011, and, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 8 of 10

First the Question: Stephen saw Christ standing in Heaven. Was Christ, STANDING, ready to come back as King then, at that moment. Yes or No?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

And now the answer to the LLM Question of 9-13-2011

Question: Acts 3:25 says, "Ye are the children of the covenant". Should this be preached to Gentiles? Yes or No?

Answer: NO! Certainly NOT! On this question, out of 742 responses, 68.8% got it right. Therefore…

Today let us consider, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 8 of 10

Tonight we present the next TEN Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, but first, once again, here are the very important FIVE different groups or classes of people who are addressed from the first chapter of Matthew to the last chapter of Revelation:

1) To unsaved Israelites who were under the Law.

2) To saved Israelites who were under the Law before they became members of the Body of Christ.

3) To unsaved Gentiles who were aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel, and not under the Law.

4) To carnal saints and babes who were members of the Body of Christ.

5) To those who were of full age, called “the faithful in Christ Jesus.”

Remember, for an in-depth explanation of these five different groups I urge you to read “Super bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 1”. Keep these five different groups in mind, and you will derive both blessing and benefit as you carefully study this seventh set of 10 Super-Facts.

Ok, here we go:

1) In Philippians 1:10, the Holy Spirit writes (Greek) “test things that differ.” Christ certainly was NOT the Head of the joint-Body in Acts 5:29-32. Therefore Acts 5:29-32 was NOT in any way connected with “The Mystery” FOR WHICH the Apostle Paul was in jail. Colossians 4:3-4. In this connection note carefully, in Acts 2:26-32, that the Apostle Peter declared to devout Jews from every nation under heaven, to all the house of Israel, that Christ was raised from the dead to sit on David's throne. On David's throne Christ will be Israel's King. On the Father's throne He is now Head of the Body. The Israel’s prophets foretold the reign of Christ on David's throne, but said NOTHING concerning the Headship unto the Church which is His Body, during this present reign of Grace.

2) The slogan of some Christians is, “back to Pentecost”, for the pattern Church and the ideal Christian program. If we are to follow that program twelve men would stand up before the congregation. Read Acts 2:14, “But Peter standing up WITH THE ELEVEN, lifted up his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words.” Why was it necessary for twelve men to stand up that day and only one is sufficient for today? Because in all the house of Israel there were 12 tribes. AND why not insist that believers sell their houses and lots and bring their money to the treasurer? Acts 2:45 and Acts 4:34.

3) Should we preach to Gentiles, “Ye are the children of the covenant” of Acts 3:25? Should we say concerning this period of Grace and the Body of Christ, “yea' and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days?” Acts 3:24. CERTAINLY NOT!! God tells us, “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenant of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.” Ephesians 2:12. And God's purpose in this age was not made known to Israel's prophets. Colossians 1:24-26. Should we preach to Gentiles “repent and be baptized for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit?” “This is God's promise to you and all who are far off?” Acts 2:38-39. Again, CERTAINLY NOT!! This was NOT the Gospel of Grace which the Apostle Paul received from the RISEN Christ and preached to Gentiles who were declared righteous WITHOUT A CAUSE by God's grace. Romans 3:24. Compare Acts 2:39 with Daniel 9:7, and note that the “far off” of Acts 2:39 were “far-off” Israelites. The “far off” of Ephesians 2:13 were NOT the “far off” of Acts 2:39. The first were Gentiles and the second Israelites.

4) In this connection compare Peter's message to Cornelius, the Gentile, in Acts 10:34-35, with Paul's message in Romans 4:4-5. First Acts 10:34-35, “Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respector of persons: but in every nation he that feareth Him, and WORKETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS ACCEPTED WITH HIM.” Acts 10:34-35. And now Romans 4:4-5, “Now to him that WORKETH IS THE REWARD NOT RECKONED OF GRACE, but of debt. But to him THAT WORKETH NOT, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4:4-5. Test things that differ. Read Titus 3:4-7 for Paul's clear message of Grace, “NOT by works of righteousness.” There is a difference between Grace in a dispensation and the “Dispensation of Grace.” Ephesians 3:1-3. Surely we should know the difference between a sinner praying for mercy and seeking salvation and the Ministry of Reconciliation in 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, in which the Lord and His Ambassadors are seeking the sinner and beseeching him to be reconciled to God.

5) Test the difference in the Gospels in Galatians 2:7, “But contrariwise, when they saw that THE GOSPEL OF THE UNCIRCUMCISION was committed unto me, as THE GOSPEL OF THE CIRCUMCISION was unto Peter.” Some say this should read “TO” the uncircumcision and “TO” the circumcision, but the Greek is “OF”.

6) Let us learn a very important lesson: that the word “GOSPEL” is a very indefinite term unless it is qualified. There is a difference between the Gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 9:35), the Gospel of the Grace of God (Acts 20:24), and “the Mystery of the Gospel” of Ephesians 6:19 to 21. Moreover, the Gospel includes every spiritual benefit and blessing which the believer enjoys. The Apostle Paul was NOT in jail for preaching salvation by the blood of Christ but for “the MYSTERY of the Gospel.” Ephesians 6:19-20.

7) The Gospel, by which sinners are saved, as declared in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, is the fact that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose the third day. NOW PAY ATTENTION! Note the reaction when Christ preached this the first time to the twelve apostles,And they understood NONE of these things: and this saying was HID from them, neither KNEW they the things which were spoken.” Luke 18:31-34. But note, that although they were wholly ignorant of this particular Gospel, they HAD been preaching the Gospel for months. Luke 9:6. Meditate prayerfully on this statement. The 12 apostles were preaching the Gospel before they knew anything about the Gospel declared by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. So do not be guilty of the folly of stating that there is only ONE GOSPEL IN THE BIBLE.

8) Concerning the Reign of Grace, 6 things had to take place before God could inaugurate His Reign of Grace WITHOUT ANY RELIGION or preference for the Jews.

1. Christ had to put away sin.

2. Christ had to abolish death.

3. Satan's power had to be destroyed by Christ's death and resurrection.

4. The law had to be taken out of the way.

5. Christ had to go back to heaven to send the Holy Spirit.

6. The Nation Israel had to be set aside.

As Israel was not set aside until AFTER Saul became Paul and proclaimed the truth of Romans 11:15, it is a serious blunder to begin the Dispensation of the Grace of God on the day of Pentecost. But most assuredly the Dispensation of Grace began with the Ministry of Reconciliation before the proclamation of Acts 28:25-28. Ever keep in mind Romans 11:15, and then note the words of Ephesians 3:2, “if ye have heard.” It seems that right down to the present date most Christians have not heard.

9) Let us compare John 7:39 with Acts 1:5. “(But this spake He of the Spirit which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given: because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” John 7:39. AND, “For John truly baptized with water: but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” Acts 1:5. From these Scriptures we learn WHY the disciples of Christ, who were saved during the days of the Son of man on earth, had to wait for the advent of the Holy Spirit, and for Holy Spirit baptism. HOWEVER, after Paul went out with the Gospel of the Grace of God, NO ONE was EVER told to tarry, or wait, for Holy Spirit baptism. “After that ye believed”, is what it says in Ephesians 1:13 and is translated from the Greek participle “Pisteusantes” and should be translated “on believing”, that is, on believing the Gospel of their Salvation, they received the Holy Spirit and became members of the Body of Christ by the ONE Divine baptism, (not of water), of Ephesians 4:5. No Gentiles in Asia and Europe were told by the Apostle Paul to tarry for Holy Spirit baptism. Understand this, there is a difference between “back to Pentecost” and “on to perfection.” Hebrews 6:1-3.

10) IF members of the Body of Christ today receive the Holy Spirit in fulfillment of Joel's prophecy, Joel 2:28-32 (which they do not), then the Body of Christ and Israel's Messianic Kingdom are one and the same, and “the first days” of the Body of Christ and “the last days” of the Body of Christ began on the day of Pentecost, (which they did not), when Peter said, “this is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel.” “And it shall come to pass “in the last days”, saith God, I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” So, was the Apostle Peter mistaken when he preached “this is that”? NO! Was the Apostle Paul mistaken when he declared Joel knew NOTHING of The Mystery that was revealed to him by the RISEN Christ? (Paul was NOT mistaken!) IF Peter on the day of Pentecost and Paul under the Reign of Grace both presented the program prophesied by Joel and Amos, then we are in error when we teach the postponement of the Kingdom, AND Paul was deluded when he wrote concerning the Dispensation of the Mystery that it was hid in God. Ephesians 3:9. Now note: We DO GREATLY err when we make “the last days” of Acts 2 “the first days” of The Mystery of Ephesians 3:6.

LLM Question of the Day, and, THE GOSPEL OF JOHN....THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, pt. 13 of 24

First the Question: Acts 3:25 says..."Ye are the children of the covenant". Should this be preached to Gentiles? Yes or No?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

and NOW, Today let us consider….

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN....THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, pt. 13 of 24

CHRIST ON THE CROSS FULFILLING THE SCRIPTURES

When the LORD of Glory was crucified (1 Corinthians 2:8), not only was the saying of Jesus in John 12:27-33 and John 3:14 fulfilled, but Psalm 22:1-18 was fulfilled as well.

This Psalm, Psalm 22, begins with the very words Christ cried unto His Father when He was dying on the cross, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” Then note Psalm 22:16, “they pierced My hands and My feet.”

When Saul of Tarsus was saved near Damascus there was a ‘pattern’ fulfillment (1 Timothy 1:16) of Zechariah 12:10, “they shall look upon Me Whom they have pierced, and shall mourn for Him.” A future fulfillment of this is mentioned in Revelation 1:7, “Behold He cometh with the clouds: and every eye shall see Him, and they which pierced Him, and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him.”

In the last few minutes of Christ on the cross we read, in John 19:28, “Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scriptures might be fulfilled (Psalm 69:21), saith, I thirst.” Then note Psalm 69:34-37, “one of the soldiers pierced His side; these things were done, that the Scripture should be fulfilled; “A bone of Him shall not be broken; And again another Scripture saith, They shall look on Him Whom they pierced.”

From Christ’s birth of the virgin Mary in a borrowed bed in Bethlehem to His burial in a borrowed sepulcher (the tomb of Joseph), the events in the birth, life, rejection, death and resurrection of the LORD Jesus were “that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.” Christ said, in Matthew 26:24, “The Son of man goeth, as it is written of Him.”

In Romans 11:25-26 we read that He will return for Israel’s redemption, “as it is written.” So concerning the first advent of the LORD Jesus and the truth that His own (Israel) received Him not, we read in Acts 13:29-30, “when they had fulfilled all that was written of Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre….But God raised Him from the dead.”

Hear the record concerning Israel, in John 12:37-38, “Though He (Christ) had done so many miracles before them, YET THEY BELIEVED NOT ON HIM; that the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, Lord, who hath believed our report?”

How sad to know that today, after more than 2000 years, the majority of the members of so-called Christian churches do NOT believe the full report concerning the Eternal, Omnipotent, Divine, sinless Christ, Who appeared ONCE in the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (Hebrews 9:26). The RISEN Christ is still saying, “O fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.” (Luke 24:25).

There are many religious church members who give mental assent to some of the glorious truths concerning the LORD Jesus, while they seem to be apathetically indifferent as to genuine soul devotion and devoid of an intelligent, spiritual, testimony concerning His eternal Deity. Many church members are suffering with dead orthodoxy. Remember the words of the Son of God, in John 12:26, “if any man serve Me, him will My Father honor”.

Important Message: The Faith of Jesus Christ

"Therefore by the deeds of The Law there shall NO flesh be justified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the Law is manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference" Romans 3:20-22

“….knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we HAVE BELIEVED IN JESUS CHRIST, that we might be justified by THE FAITH OF CHRIST, and not by the works of the Law: for by the works of the Law shall NO flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:15-16

“But the scripture hath concluded ALL under sin, that the promise by FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST might be given to THEM THAT BELIEVE.” Galatians 3:22

“And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the Law, but that which is through THE FAITH OF CHRIST, the righteousness which is of God BY FAITH.” (Phil. 3:9)

Why is this important?

Because it is NOT OUR faith in Jesus which justifies us, but the Faith OF Jesus Christ in us which justifies us.

In other words, it is HIS Faith at work in us and in our hearts which produces righteousness and the God kind of life. And what is most important about this is the implications it has for us and our faith.

First of all, it explains why Faith is a gift and why we are saved through Faith by Grace and not as a work of our own. It is not our faith which justifies, but the Faith of Jesus given to us, which resides in us. Since it is not our faith that justifies, but the Faith of our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ, whose Faith is now at work on the inside of us, we are not called upon to believe God out of our own miserable resources or self generated faith or mental efforts, or our attempts to believe.

We are only enabled to believe God through and because of the Faith of Jesus Christ as working in us. It is Jesus' Faith upon which we are dependent and upon whom we rely. It is upon His Faith, which is perfect and never fails, upon which we can rest and fully trust, because we know His Faith is sufficient for every need and greater than every obstacle.

LLM Question of the Day for 9-13-2011, and, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 7 of 10

First the Question: Acts 3:25 says, "Ye are the children of the covenant". Should this be preached to Gentiles? Yes or No?

Please take a moment to respond at the LLM Question of the Day

And now the answer to the LLM Question of 9-8-2011

Question: Christ was NOT the Head of the joint-Body, (the Sussoma of Ephesians 3:6), in Acts 5:29-32. True or False?

Answer: TRUE! In Acts 5:31 Christ is NOT mentioned as Head of a joint-Body of Jews and Gentiles, but as Prince and Savior to give repentance and forgiveness to Israel. In Philippians 1:10, the Holy Spirit writes (Greek) “test things that differ.” Christ certainly was NOT the Head of the joint-Body in Acts 5:29-32. Therefore Acts 5:29-32 was NOT in any way connected with “The Mystery” FOR WHICH the Apostle Paul was in jail. Colossians 4:3-4. On this question, out of 713 responses, 56.7% got it right. Therefore…

Today let us consider, Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 7 of 10

Before we get to the next TEN Super Bible Facts for Super Bible Study contained in this message, here, once again, are the FIVE different groups or classes of people who are addressed from the first chapter of Matthew to the last chapter of Revelation:

1) To unsaved Israelites who were under the Law.

2) To saved Israelites who were under the Law before they became members of the Body of Christ.

3) To unsaved Gentiles who were aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel, and not under the Law.

4) To carnal saints and babes who were members of the Body of Christ.

5) To those who were of full age, called “the faithful in Christ Jesus.”

Remember, for an in-depth explanation of these five different groups I urge you to read “Super bible Facts for Super Bible Study, part 1”. Keep these five different groups in mind, and you will derive both blessing and benefit as you carefully study this fourth set of 10 Super-Facts.

Ok, here we go:

1) We learn in Matthew 23:33-40 that Christ denounced the rulers of Israel, calling them “serpents” and “vipers”, and some months later he instructed Peter to tenderly address them as “the children of the covenant.” Acts 3:25. There is a great difference between “snakes” and “children.” God's changed attitude toward Israel was because of Christ's prayer on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34. Israel's sin against the Son of man was pardonable; but not their sin against the Holy Spirit. Matthew 12:32.

2) Because of Christ's prayer on the cross, note the LORD's message to Israel in Acts 3:17-19, “And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. But those things, which God before hath shewed by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He hath so fulfilled. Repent ye, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” If they would repent the LORD was willing to forgive Israel on the grounds of ignorance and send their Messiah and King back to bring about the restitution of all things. Then the Twelve would be on twelve thrones as judges. Matthew 19:28. This was also because the sacrifice of Christ for the salvation of lost humanity was inevitable, having been foretold in the Scriptures and foreordained before the foundation of the world. Acts 4:28 and Acts 2:22. And so far as redemption, justification or salvation is concerned let us ever remember that without the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ NO one from Abel down to the present time was ever saved.

3) All that the Lord offered to Israel, in Acts 1-9, was in fulfillment of God's promises to Israel, by the mouth and pen of Moses, Samuel, David, Joel, Amos and all the prophets. Acts 2:26-32, Acts 2:11-16, Acts 3:21-24, Acts 15:14-15. There is NOTHING in Acts 1-9 of the GRACE message for Gentiles. When Saul was converted he was told to “arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins.” Acts 22:16. This is NOT part of the Apostle Paul's message to Gentiles. In the first chapters of Acts we have a repetition of John 1:11-12, “Christ came unto His own and His own (Israel as a Nation) received Him not, but as many (Israelites) as received Him etc.”

4) Moses, Samuel, David, Joel, Amos, and the rest of Israel's prophets knew nothing, said nothing, and wrote nothing, concerning the Dispensation of Grace and the Dispensation of the Mystery which the RISEN Christ revealed to the Apostle Paul. Ephesians 3:6-11, Colossians 1:24-27. Christ's ministry on earth was a “confirmation” ministry. Paul had a two-fold ministry, one of which was the “confirmation” ministry, and the other “the mystery”, by revelation. This he called “the unsearchable riches of Christ.” Ephesians 3:8. The LORD worked in Peter to the apostleship of the Jews. Galatians 2:8.

5) In Acts 15:13-18 is recorded God's Kingdom program, which was FORETOLD by Amos, in Amos 9:11-15, that Christ would come as King, build the tabernacle of David, save an Israelitish remnant and THEN the Gentiles. This is exactly the kingdom program of Acts 2-11. The program of Acts 1-11 does NOT fit into Paul's Dispensation of the Grace of God. The Twelve were preaching before Acts 13:2, repentance, the new birth and restitution, but NOT reconciliation and the NEW CREATION.

6) If we teach that God's purpose, concerning the Body of Christ, in this age, is stated by Peter and James, in Acts 15:14, “to take out from among the Gentiles a people for His name,” which was foretold by Amos, then Paul was mistaken when he declared that Amos knew nothing of God's “Body” program in this age (Colossians 1:24-26), and Peter and James were out of the will of God when they agreed to go to the Jews (Galatians 2:9), when God's purpose was to take out Gentiles. The Baptizing by the Holy Spirit of Jews and Gentiles in ONE Body (1 Corinthians 12:13), or making of the two One New Man (Ephesians 2:15), is NOT taking out from the Gentiles a people for His name in fulfillment of Amos 9:11-15. God is visiting Jews as well as Gentiles during this Age of Grace, although it is a period of special Divine favor for the Gentiles.

7) After God has accomplished, during this age, “the eternal purpose of Christ”, concerning the joint-Body of Ephesians 3:6, He WILL fulfill His kingdom program, of which Acts 2:2-11 is the pattern. The Apostle Peter had the keys of the Kingdom of heaven. Matthew 16:16-18. In the first chapters of the Book of Acts, Peter, by Divine authority, was presenting anew the kingdom of heaven to Israel. Christ was raised from the dead to take David's throne. Acts 2:27-33. On that throne Christ is to reign over the house of Jacob for ever. Luke 1:33. When Christ returns to Israel as King He will accomplish what He WOULD have done, if Israel had repented. Acts 3:19-21. Then the remnant of Jews and the Gentiles will come to the Lord in accordance with Acts 15:13-18. THIS will be accomplished by preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. Matthew 24:12-14.

8) On the day of Pentecost the LORD's message by the Apostle Peter and the Eleven was for “all the house of Israel.” Acts 2:36. In the first part of that message Peter declared “this is that which is spoken by the prophet Joel.” Acts 2:16. Note the “last days” of Acts 2:17. Joel prophesied concerning Israel's “last days”, Israel's tribulation, and Israel in their own land under Kingdom blessings on earth. Joel did not prophesy as to the last days, or the first days, of the Church which is His Body. What foolishness then to teach that the Dispensation of Grace began on the day of Pentecost!

9) The word “church” is from the word “Kurios”, which is interpreted several hundred times “Lord.” The Greek word FROM WHICH “church” is translated is “ekklesia”, meaning, literally, “called out.” It is used in Acts 19:32, Acts 19:39, and Acts 19:41, and is there translated “assembly,” referring to a mob of disorderly sinners. “Ekklesia,” referring to Israel, is used a number of times in the Old (Greek translation) Testament. Israel's Ekklesia in the wilderness is mentioned in Acts 7:38. Now, very important, with that said, therefore, the expression “the Church of God” may, OR MAY NOT, refer to the Body of Christ. Note Nehemiah 13:1, in the Greek, “the ekklesia (congregation) of God.” God had a Church before Pentecost, but NOT the Body of Christ. The Samaritans persecuted the ekklesia of God when the Jews were rebuilding the temple in the days of Nehemiah, let’s not forget that. Nehemiah 13:1, Nehemiah 4:1-7, Nehemiah 6:1-12.

10) In Ephesians 1:19-23, we read of Christ FAR ABOVE in the heavenlies made Head over all things unto the Church which is His Body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all. But note Acts 5:30-31: “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance TO ISRAEL, and forgiveness of sins. “To ISRAEL?!?” Where did the Gentiles come in? They did NOT come in. Ephesians was written principally concerning Gentile salvation and their oneness with Christ, and with redeemed Israelites in the joint-Body (Sussoma) of Ephesians 3:6. But in Acts 5:31 Christ is NOT mentioned as Head of a joint-Body of Jews and Gentiles, but as Prince and Savior to give repentance and forgiveness to Israel.
